Trekking to Boom gorge. Tent Camp

Transfer to Bishkek (160 km). Tent Camp

Notes: There are no hard difficulties on the route.
Every tourist has to have warm clothes, rain coat, trekking-boots, sleeping-bag, carry mat.

Trekking: TST-2 Terskey Ala-Too, 13 days

  • Invigorating trekking route of medium grade

Issyk-Kul Lake is a huge natural accumulator which determine the unique climate of the whole area. You can hardly experience anywhere else such a hot mountain sun, fresh air and smell of fir trees, as well as coolness of sea breeze. While travelling there you will become stronger, healthy, full of pleasant emotions.

Transfer to the Boom gorge. Walking to the red sandstone rocks. Tent Camp

After lunch transfer via Karakol town (former Przhevalsk) to Kashka-Suu Gorge. Tent Camp

Hike up to Chon-Kol-Dzar pass (3350 m) along Kashka-Suu River and then descent to Altyn-Arashan Gorge ("Gold Spring"). Tent Camp or mountain hut

Radial hike to the upper reaches of Arashan Gorge. Tent Camp

Radial hike to Ala-Kol Lake. Tent Camp

Transfer to Dzhety-Oguz Gorge. Tent Camp

Conditions:
1) Average trekking time is 5-6 hours a day, however on some days it takes 7 hours over a pass.
The route is not very difficult. Good health of tourists is enough for this tour.
2) Every tourist has to have sleeping bag, carry mat, warm clothes, rain coat, trekking-boots.

Trekking:
TST-5 To the highest peaks of Tien-Shan, 21 days

  • 180 km trekking route in spectacular Tien-Shan Mountains
  • Scenic Merzbacher Lake which drain all its water late August every year
  • Route over 5 passes of 3000m - 4000m
  • Possibility for ascent to Dikiy Peak 4832m
  • Walking on Inylchek Glacier, one of the largest ones in the world

Itinerary:

Arrival in Bishkek. Sightseeing. Hotel

Transfer to the Lake Issyk-Kul. On the way visit Burana Tower (XII AD) and petroglyphs museum. Hotel or Guest House

Transfer to the start point of trekking in Dzhergalan gorge and a short walk to the camp site. Acclimatization. There is a rich wildlife - archa, currants, clear water, grassy slopes and firewood for a bonfire. Tent Camp

Cross the nameless pass (2800m). The way is simple and goes along grassy slopes. Ascent time from the stop to the pass is 2-3 hours. Descent from the pass to Dzhergalan River along the narrow gorge is about 1.5 hour. Descent from the pass to the Tjup river valley. Altogether the hike time is 7 hours.

Cross Ashu-Tor pass to upper reaches of the Dzhanalach river which flows into a wide valley. You can get acquainted with herdsmen's life here. Hike time is about 6 hours.
Tent Camp

Hike to the south along Dzhanalach River valley to Echkilitash pass (5-6 hours). Fabulous view of summits of the Sari-Dzhaz range opens from the pass. Descent (0.5 hour) to green slopes near Echkilitash river. Tent Camp

After 3 hours descent along the left slope of Echkilitash gorge the route comes to the Sari-Dzhas and ascend to Saridzhaski rang along its tributary - Tjuz River. Tent Camp

Crossing over Tjuz Pass (4001 m). It is possible to by-pass the glacier walking on scree to the right. It takes you 3 - 4 hours to ascend the pass. Descend on the scree and a grassy slope to the Inylchek river. Hike time 6 - 7 hours. Tent Camp

Day of rest, short walk along Inylchek valley. Tent Camp

Lower part of Inylchek glacier is covered with stones and moraines and is not difficult. It takes you 8 - 9 hours to go to the Merzbacher glade, so it is necessary to make intermediate overnight camp.

Radial trekking to the Merzbacher lake and Shokalskiy glacier, where between stones you can easily find nice crystals of tourmaline, quartz, fluorite, topaz and other minerals.

Helicopter flight to the Dikiy glacier. Hike to the base camp Inylchek. Tent Camp

Hike to the foot of Dikiy Peak 3-4 hours. Tent Camp

Ascent to Dikiy Peak (4832m). A nice view of the highest summits of Tien-Shan opens from the peak. Time of ascent and descent is 8 - 10 hours. Tent Camp

Return to the Base Camp. Walking on the glacier. Tent Camp

Helicopter flight to the Maydadyr. Transfer to Karakol (170 km, 4 hours). Tent Camp

Transfer to Issyk-Kul Lake over Chon-Ashu pass. Hotel or Guest House

Conditions and notes:
1) This trekking is considered as of average difficulty level. We advise it for tourists who are very fit, and familiar with trekking in the mountains of at least 3000m. Climate of Central Tien-Shan is continental, dry, with significant difference between day and night temperatures. Sometimes the sky can be in clouds and cold days last for 2 or 3 days. At the altitude of 3500m it is snowing as a rule. Be ready for these difficulties. While crossing the glacier you must be able to use safety rope.
2) Every member must have warm clothes, raincoats, trekking boots, sleeping-bag, carry mat, trekking sticks, sunglasses.
3) All tourists must have medical insurance.

Trekking in National Nature Park Ala-Archa (42 km). Acclimatization radial hikes (1800m-2500 m) Mountain hut Kashka-Suu

Transfer to Son-Kul Lake which is located in wide plane hollow at the altitude of 3016m, and it is surrounded by mountains. There are no villages, only in summer time many herdsmen come there with families and live in yurts (Kyrgyz traditional dwelling). Yurt Inn

Radial hike to one of the neighbouring ranges. Visit local nomads, taste traditional food and drinks. Yurt Inn or Tent Camp

Transfer to Tash-Rabat (260 km), architectural monument of XV century on the Great Silk Road. Yurt Inn

Hike up to Tash-Rabat pass. Dramatic view of salt-marsh valley and lifeless Chatyr-Kul Lake opens from the pass. Chatyr-Kul Lake is located at the altitude of 3530m. Caravans from Kashgar to Tien-Shan went on this way in ancient times. Yurt Inn

Transfer to Torugart border post (110 km). Border formalities. Meet with Chinese agency representative. Transfer further o Kashgar (150 km). Hotel

Kashgar was one of the main points on the Great Silk Road. Craftsmen and tradesmen live here. During the first half-day sightseeing and visit of the market. After lunch transfer to Kara-Kul Lake (200 km) at the altitude of 3552m near 2 mountain giants: Mustag-Ata 7546m and Kongur 7719m. Tent Camp

Four days of trekking Karakul - Kuqikaqi - Subach - Mustag-Ata base camp. Tent Camp

Ascent of Mustag-Ata slope to an altitude of 5000 - 5500m. Return to the base camp.

1) Grade of this trek is challenging, on rugged terrain and at the altitudes of 4000m-5000m. We advise it for trained people who have experience of trekking in high mountains.
